Prevalence of osteoporosis in patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) in a hospital; a cross-sectional study

Patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) are increasing aware of the consequence osteoporosis. Low bone turnover, impaired osteoblast function, and low blood osteocalcin levels hallmarks osteoporosis in CLD, which mostly affects trabecular bone. Osteoporosis is public health issue metabolic among every age group throughout globe especially Pakistan. The current study was conducted DHQ, KPK, Pakistan to determine prevalence percentage patients during July 2020-2021. Out 548 patients, 22.9% at a 95% Confidence Interval (5.9-12.5%), higher female (57.60%) than male (42.40%). rate recorded old young patients. lower weight, height cholestasis sex risk factors disease. early detection can help decreasing socio-economic burden fracture rates.
